Week 1 Realities

We have survived our first week home with Josh back at work, but not without some ups and downs.

Successes: Making it out of the house with both kids nearly every day - to music group, playgroup, spring-weather walk...! And we all remain alive and functioning.

Reality Checks: Ollie getting big head bruises 3 out of the 5 days, the kitchen floor remaining covered with spilled peas and corn from lunch until Josh got home, breastfeeding Rowley at a play space while chasing Ollie away from taking any more bites from the whole oranges on the snack table, and not doing proper outfit changes...if I'm wearing a shirt, no matter if it was from the day before, that is decent enough to warrant leaving the house... :-(

...and Rowley!

Ollie B is a big brother! March 5, 2015 at 6:10pm his little brother Rowley Ellis was born, weighing in at 7.45lbs (to Ollie's 7.1) and 20" (to Ollie's 19.75") and with an enormous head circumference 1/2cm larger(!!) than Ollie's! The only big difference - Ollie had bright blonde hair and Rowley has brown!

He surprised us all - me most of all - by being born a day before his due date. I was convinced he would follow Ollie's lead in being 2 weeks late, but, no no, not this one!

He is now 3 weeks old, just over 8lbs, and pretty delightful. He has a pretty explosive and loud cry but luckily doesn't use it all that often. He is amazingly immune to Ollie's loud play, and Ollie is (mostly) very sweet and gentle with him.

I never got my girl - boo! - but we couldn't be happier with these two cuties. And we are hopeful they will be good buddies in the years to come!

Brand new baby!

Sweet little sleeping face!

Happy Brothers
Not a pretty picture, but proof that I got both boys out for a walk on my first week home alone with them! Success! (Rowley in the Ergo shadow...)
