Smiles

We purchased an SLR camera just in time to capture Oliver's erupting smiles.  At 10 weeks, he is full of wide, happy smiles for us!

Brain Dysfunction

Some post-baby..."challenges" that I have had with brain function...I happily blame "baby brain" for these!!

1. When our bank called to question why we had tried to transfer $31,000 to our saving account.  "That's impossible!" I overheard Josh say to her on the phone.  And I thought - Oh, no, very possible.  Indeed, I had set up the transfer for $310.07...but forgot the decimal...

2. Hallucinations:
-When I woke up during my "off duty" time at night, convinced that I had Ollie in my arms, and concerned that Josh would wake up and see that he was missing...
-When I was trying to let Ollie fuss a bit at night before jumping to his aid, but saw that his arm...and another time his legs...had wriggled out of the swaddle, meaning I had to pick him up to re-wrap him.  BUT, in fact, he was completely wrapped still, a fact I didn't process until I was already nursing him again...

3. Knowing I'd learned certain baby-related information somewhere, but having absolutely no idea from who, where, or when I'd obtained this info...

4. Repeatedly calling Oliver "Levi"...

Family, Friends, Love, Love, Love

This little guy, as well as me and Josh, have been so lucky to be surrounded by so much family and friends these beginning days.  Ollie's Aunt Marisa, cousin Levi, Grandma and Grandpa, and Uncle Alex and Mia all came to meet Oliver in his first day, and the visitors have continued to flow!  We have LOVED the visits, and the chances to show off (...and take a break from!) Ollie, and he, in turn, seems to love all the busy attention.

Age 0

Our Oliver Benjamin Mansfield was born at 1:13am by c-section (thank you, "failure to descend"...) on Tuesday, May 7, 2013.  Despite being exactly 2 weeks past his due date, he weighed in at 7.1 lbs, with sweet bright eyes, a crooked left toe, and a big ol' Mansfield head.

Happy 0 Birthday, Ollie!
